Just a couple of weeks before it celebrates its 11th anniversary, the country’s preferred clinic for face, body and medical services, Flawless, marks several milestones as it formally launches its new digital face and voice in Cebu.

"How can new technology and new media create solutions for the biggest problems facing my community?"

This is the question that everyone resonated all over the world as we celebrate International Social Social Media Summit. Here in Cebu, the premier blogging institution with which I belong to, organized the event with the help of our sponsors and partners.

Cleaner World: Positive Change for a Healthier Philippines! Unilab Ideas Positive Campaign Transforms Communities with Youth

It goes without saying that Philippines has become an epicenter of the harsh effects of Climate Changes.

From the thousands of lives lost to typhoons and extreme famine, we could never ignore the reality that we need to have sustainable ways of modifying our lifestyle so that we could leave less carbon footprint. One thing we could act now is address our environmental problems in lessening garbage.

Fortunately, our country has been addressing this issue for quite sometime now through proper waste disposal, encouraging zero waste management, recognizing and rewarding green companies, strong info campaign on dealing with waste, effective packaging, and strict implementation of the law.

But as I had a community visit to the Inayawan Landfill in Cebu, I thought to myself, we have to somehow step up our game so that we don’t have to deal with this mountain high wastes and people living around it won’t have to live in such a horrible place. They may look happy and content when we went ther…

Facebook App: Turn your Facebook Timeline into a Movie

Facebook became more than just a social networking where friends, families and colleagues get to interact in ways that were not possible some years ago.

But now it has become one of the most indispensable web applications that we could never live without because basically you can do everything on the site from online shopping, events organizing, group productivity up to raising funds and awareness.

Now, it has introduced a lot of innovation with the launching of Facebook Timeline. It has changed the way Facebook lets us share our life story to the world.

And as if that wasn't enough, they have partnered with a respected marketing agency, Definition 6 to release an application that creates a movie based on your Facebook Timeline aptly called "Facebook Timeline Movie Maker". It highlights the biggest changes in your life and some amazing photos that plays with great cinematic effects and soundtrack that'll make you say AWEESSSOMMEE. But one catch though, you can't…

CBSi@4: It's More Fun in CBSi

The country's premier blogging institution that has proven to promote government programs, businesses, events and causes in great ways will turn a year older this Feb. 14.

Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. will celebrating the organizations' founding anniversary with a simple and fun dinner this Feb. 11 sponsored by the Azkals Sports Bar and Grill.

For the event, I have been tasked to design an online poster that will visualize this year's festive theme: It's More Fun in CBSi which also encourages bloggers who may want to join the org to upscale their blogging experience and open opportunities and give honor to the worldwide tourism campaign of our country. I have incorporated the elements of Sinulog and Fiesta in the artwork which definitely encapsulates the Filipino brand of fun.

Happy 4th Anniversary guys! More power to all of us in the online publishing and social media industry!

In behalf of the members and the Board of Trustees of the Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. thank you…

Groupon PH saved me from a really BAD day!

Since Groupon Philippines was launched here in the country, around a thousand people have enjoyed what their city has to offer in Cebu alone. We have been enjoying as much as 90% discount on restaurants, fitness and wellness centers.

December has been quite a ride and it burnt me out pretty bad so I decided to use the 30-minute foot spa and 1 hour full body massage, compliments from Groupon Philippines.

It was actually so easy! All I did was go to the homepage and register then I clicked the Buy Now button which takes me to the payment page. There are so many ways to pay: Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, Bancnet, GCash and Bank Deposits via leading banks (BDO, BPI, Unionbank, RCBC).

Thru Groupon, I was able to enjoy a great time with myself at the Subtle Zen Spa Center just in time when I had a really BAD day just when my year was just about to end, but I had sorta snapped out of it already by now. But anyway, what was awesome about the foot spa and full body massage deal was that I was able …

How to design exciting pet and tourism homepages. Web 2.0 Design Case Study

Been doing a lot of web designs at my workplace for quite some time now and I'd like to share just some of the few stuffs I made when I started this job.

Here is a closer look to doing a sample web design for a tourism themed site. First look at core colors of the place you are designing for. In this case, I am making a site for Cebu province. If you google Cebu provincial logo, the prominent colors are blue and yellow, so I created a color scheme palette out of that. Also if you have noticed I had a diamond design accents from the backgrounds to the bullets to subconsciously inculcate our place's brilliance. Draw inspiration from everything and never be afraid to use them!

Top menu bar extends on both ends of the site which is recommended for CSS purposes.

Instead of big photo banners which are usual, I opted for a photo composition muted in a bright color for prominence. The goals of the site are found in the banners main menu: where to dine, where to go, where to say, about… Pinoy innovation, Bid for Gadgets Online

Yours truly was honored to meet the owners of, an Emerging Penny Auction Site. They flew all the way from Manila to meet top online publishers who'd like to test drive this amazing pinoy innovation.

When I learned that they were going to launch an auction site of this name, I was like "What?" Then it occurred to me that it actually meant a lot of things not just the prison. It actually stands for Bili "to buy" and Bid because, as users, you can bid for a specific item using bid points. Just like the usual bidding process, whoever bids the highest price for the item, wins the auction.

RAFI’s YMA Nation-Building Scholars Offer Solutions, Promote Advocacy Against Poverty

Instead of going to malls or playing online games, a group of teens and young adults chose to spend their weekends in the community to help poor Cebuanos. They also used Facebook and other social media networks, went to schools to campaign and raised funds to promote the causes of local groups working on poverty alleviation.

These are scholars of the Young Minds Academy (YMA), a leadership and citizenship development program of the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center (EADSC) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI).

Join Visayas Blogging Summit 2011 for FREE and be awesome!

Blogging for personal advancement, networking, business, governance, advocacy and culture.
Online publishing could do so much than present a new style of storytelling, engaging audience, interacting with fans, friends, supporters, concerned citizens, clients or potential ones.

In fact,  28% of the Fortune 500's blogs link to Twitter accounts and 5  of the top 10 companies have public blogs: Wal-Mart, Chevron, General Motors, Ford, and Bank of America. Why so? Because blogs have the power to reach a wider audience and they are able to communicate and market their brands, products and services with a small investment.

What was launched in Manila last February 2011 has now arrived in Cebu to deliver great experiences coupled with great value.
Whoever said, “You can’t have everything at a good price,” has definitely not tried Groupon. This online portal offers daily deals on the best stuff to do, see, eat and buy in the city, minus the hefty price tag.

Groupon does its magic on the internet with the introduction of an ingenious concept called “collective buying,” wherein the website offers huge discounts and buyers band together to purchase an item or experience.

RAFI collaborates with 10 groups for youth development

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) inked a partnership agreement with six civil society organizations and four local government unitsfor the project development phase of the Young Minds Academy (YMA) Season 5, RAFI’s youth leadership and citizenship development program.
